An Analysis of the Genetic Relation between Photosynthesis and Yield-Related Traits in Wheat

A recombinant inbred line population, derived from a cross between high light-tolerant wheat Triticum aestivum cv. Xiaoyan 54 and yielding, but light-sensitive variety, Jing 411, was used to explore the genetic relation photosynthesis grain yield-related traits. The net CO2 assimilation rate, chlorophyll content, fluorescence parameters, leaf area index, plant height, spike number, biomass, yield, harvest index were evaluated in field across two consecutive years. results reveal that total of 57 quantitative trait loci (QTL) are found be associated with investigated They distributed on almost all 21 chromosomes, except for chromosomes 5D, 6D, 7A, 7D. phenotypic variance explained by single QTL ranged 9.3% 39.9% depending traits QTL. Of these QTL, 12 clusters regulate at least 2 traits, which 8 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 2D, 3A, 3B, 4B 5A. Seven both indicative their relation. Two 2D co-located reduced-height genes, Rht8 Rht-B1b, respectively. These may as potential targets radiation use efficiency improvement future.
